DAY ONE (Arrival Day) Our journey together begins at the Parma hotel.. Here we will gather together, and stop for coffee for a time of introductions. After you’ve settled in, we will meet our local guide for a stroll through Parma's picturesque streets. Later we will gather for an aperitivo hour and an unforgettable dinner at one of Parma's most celebrated restaurants. This is our chance to connect, learn one another’s stories, and toast to the magic that is sure to unfold when cultures collide.

This morning, our journey takes us to the picturesque Castello di Vigoleno set in the Piacenza hills, where history and architecture intertwine in a mesmerizing display. Wander through its cobbled streets and immerse yourself in its timeless setting. Next, we will visit a special winery, where we will learn all about the production of award-winning Vin Santo. This is the only winery that makes this dessert wine. After lunch, stroll through the charming medieval village of Castell'Arquato, where every corner reveals a new facet of its old-world charm. Immerse yourself in the serenity of this ancient town, basking in the beauty of its well-preserved architecture and captivating vistas. This place doesn’t even seem real. Conclude the day by returning to Parma for an evening of leisure and dining on your own.

Today, we will set out early for a day filled with culinary delights and historical intrigue. Our journey will take us to the heart of the region as we visit the producers of world-renowned parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar, offering an opportunity for tastings at each stop.
Amidst the picturesque hills, we will linger over lunch which promises to be a memorable experience. In the afternoon, we will have the chance to explore the remarkable 15th-century Torrechiara Castle, an architectural marvel that boasts stunning frescoed rooms and captivating views from its exterior. DAY FOUR (Modena and Florence) Time to leave Parms and begin our travels south. Our morning will be spent in Modena at the famed Mercato Albinelli, considered the most beautiful covered market in Italy. This historic food market is the perfect place to sample local food. You’ll have time to shop for treats of your own. After lunch, we will travel to Florence. Once we check into the hotel, we will set off on a walking tour of central Florence including a visit to the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. This renowned establishment, dating back to the 13th century, offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of perfumery and herbal remedies. Here you can immerse yourself in the stories and craftsmanship behind the products, gaining insight into centuries-old practices. Dinner together in the evening.

This morning we will travel to Lucca for the morning. You’ll have time to wander the city walls or enjoy exploring this charming walled city on your own. After lunch we will return to Florence where you’ll have the mid afternoon free to do as you like. Our final evening will be an affair to remember and promises to be a crescendo to an unforgettable week together.

Arrival Day

This is our second trip with Kyle and for the second time our experience exceeded our expectations. The accommodations, food , and transfers were all fantastic. The quality of the itinerary cannot be overstated; unique and an immersion in the Italian way of life. Do not hesitate to travel with Kyle - you will pleased with your decision!

This was my first trip overseas, I traveled to London then by train to Warwick to meet Kyle Campbell. We traveled, toured, ate and enjoyed the group each and every day we were together. Kyle has vast knowledge about The Cotswold's and led us to the most amazing sights, historic places, Hamlets, Villages, Markets, Market Towns, and Cities. She also prepared an incredibly beautiful space for our Welcome meal at Ettington Park and placed a card, sweet Cotswold tote, and candy in my room upon arrival. We traveled on a new, comfortable coach with a very qualified driver each day. On the last night together Kyle invited the group to a Farewell meal in a private dining room with exceptional service and consideration for our last time together. On the morning we were leaving the Double Red Duke, Kyle invited us to accompany her to the town of Bibury before checkout. She took me to a sheepfold and stopped to allow me to get out and take pictures for my travel journal, I was just so surprised she would remember that detail of a conversation and allow me the time to accomplish this. It was not easy to say thank you and good bye to Kyle as I felt like I was leaving a friend behind. I have enjoyed telling friends and family that my experience with Sudden Journeys was like a Fairytale story, one I will always treasure.

Most excellent trip. Great mix of scheduled activities and free time. Loved the small group size (9 of us plus Kyle) and enjoyed the company of everyone. The weather threw us a curve in Paros and Kyle was able to rearrange activities on the fly so we didn't miss a thing. Our final dinner together in Athens started by walking down an alley some in our party considered sketchy and ended being wonderful, like eating dinner in someone's home (someone who could cook very well). Recommend without reservation.

This was the second trip we took with Kyle of Sudden Journeys. Kyle is a consummate guide, exposing us to the beauty, history, culture and food of Greece. She offers her traveling companions unique experiences and meaningful moments, all provided with great thought and insight. Kyle cares deeply about the impact each experience brings to us, and we were left with grateful hearts for what she offered on her tour of Greece.
